Seriously?

I want to share some interesting information with you all. I got a call from Wal-mart for a potential job. I was somewhat excited as I haven't been able to find a job and I am willing to do just about anything for a job.

The lady in personnel that called me informed me that this is a part-time position (32 hours). (OK). She also informs me that the pay starts at $7.20/hour. HEHEHE silly woman. Let me show you why it sucks in Southwest VA: Total pay for 32 hours at $7.20/hour = $230.40. Now, deduct the taxes (approx. 20% = $46.06). $230.40 - 46.06 = $184.34. Gas for this 32 hours is $45.00. Therefore, per week I will be making: $139.24. OMG, how do people survive on these piddly wages.

This is definitely a job I will not be checking further into.

My temp job is scheduled to end the end of June therefore, it is crunch time to find a job. If I can't, you can bet I will be collecting unemployment. My next venture is going into production for an operator position. Can't wait, night shift!

UGH>>>>> I really am frustrated!

What's with the rain?

I don't want this to sound like I am complaining about the rain however, every weekend, we are getting rain. If its not raining, were mowing! I would just like to have a full weekend with no rain; is that too much to ask? I guess. I would also like to see the gas prices drop by half but I think the wish of a no rain weekend is a safer bet at this point.

The kids have school on Memorial Day here so I will be enjoying time to myself! Well, not totally, Kristin has a choral picnic Monday at a park and they are providing everyone lunch. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun. The kids are also itching to get out of school. Their last day is Thursday, May 29, 2008. Matt and Kristin have both stated that they are going to do lots of sleeping. Little do they know I have already begin "chore" lists for them. HEHEHE

As for me, well, I could be doing a hell of a lot better. My temp job that I have been at for almost 10 months is going to end. I sure hope I can find something else. I have looked and looked and there are absolutely NO JOBS!!!! I have applied to Walgreens and Walmart and haven't heard anything. They are now stating that the job market here is depressed . . yea and so am I. I have sent out so many resume's that I am tired of sending them out. Well see. I sure hope something gives soon!

~Updates~

I picked Matt up from practice on Tuesday and he gets in and immediately says, I had a FABULOUS day today. Of course I said really, why? He then tells me he aced his Earth Science SOL test (the only SOL he has this year) and then he found out that he is lettering (as a Freshman) in Golf and Track & Field. He also informed us that he will have 10 credits towards his 21 graduating credits this year. That leaves him with three more years of school and only 11 credits remaining. Of course, 21 is for the general diploma; therefore, he is going to graduate with an Academic as long as he continues with his grades and credits.

PROUD - PROUD - PROUD! ! ! ! !

Kristin passed and is moving on to 7th grade! We are so proud of her because she seemed to struggle in school in Winchester. Here, school seems to be more "up her alley" if you know what I mean. Maybe a change of scenery is good for some! We were so afraid they wouldn't adjust nor succeed; not so.

PROUD - PROUD - PROUD ! ! ! ! !

Unfortunately, its me that isn't adjusting and succeding. Oh well, maybe one day.

More Proud moments: I got my nephew's graduation announcement in the mail yesterday!!!! How exciting! I cannot believe he is graduating. He is a great kid that I love so much. Funny tidbit, when we got the announcement, I noticed that it was in his handwriting. Funny thing, I had never seen his handwriting much to realize it. This morning, I read the Winchester Star and see an article on Tuesday that my SIL Janet M. Jackson was interviewed at the Post Office with his announcements. Danukus is the first of my mom's grandchildren to graduate!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to you all!!!

Pictures...pictures...pictures

I have tons of pics but am having computer issues therefore, as soon as it is fixed, I will post them. Wouldn't you know the pics I have of Kristin the night of her choral program are completely fantastic and I can't post them. I cannot believe how much my daughter has grown up in the past year! Its scary!

Today, I get to go get a tire patched. UGH. This is very frustrating as I just got these new tires less than a month ago and already something in one. Acutally it is a piece of wood. As JD put the spare on on last night I got to jack up the jeep. It was so hard. I could not believe how many times I cranked the jack and it wasn't even off the ground. Way to manual for me! On another good note, we bought JD an air compressor 2 weeks ago and all I can say is THANK YOU!!! It was a quick job. It was neat too because we felt like we were in a Nascar pit! As for the patch, i am totally blaming work right now because I one of my "functions" is organizing an off site trailer of archived paperwork. The first day of the flat, I had been there. So frustrating!!!

I pass this street everyday going to work and it just occurred to me this morning to take a pic and post it for Amy. Cute huh?
